Responsibilities
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of city vehicles, city machinery, Police cruisers, and emergency fire apparatus.

Vehicle Fleet
The vehicle fleet is comprised of several diverse types of vehicles, including:
  • 1 Rescue Size Fire Truck
  • 3 Class A Fire Trucks
  • 5 Fire Support Vehicles
  • 6 Heavy Duty Trucks (26,000 pounds or more - one of which is a very large 18-wheeler tanker)
  • 14 SUV Class Vehicles in various departments
  • 15 Intermediate Size Dually Trucks (1 ton to 5 ton)
  • 26 Conventional Pickup Trucks (1/2 ton to 3/4 ton) 
  • More than 32 Police Units, of which 14 are high-use marked patrol vehicles

In addition to these vehicles, there are over one dozen utility trailers, several of which have electric generators or hydraulic components mounted on them.
