Tree Programs
Tree Maintenance
The City of New Port Richey maintains an active community forestry program administered by the Public Works Department's Streets and Right of Way Division. This reforestation program includes the planting of at least 50 selected hardwood trees on public property in each budget year. Also, as a service to private property owners, the city removes dead or diseased tree debris when placed at the property line.

Adopt a Tree Program
The city Environmental Board has implemented the Adopt a Tree Program for the City of New Port Richey. City residents may request a tree to adopt through the Public Works Department. As a sponsor, you will care for a tree that will be planted on public land near your home. The 7-12 foot tree will be planted during fall and with your help in donating water will grow to be beautiful and strong for many decades.

A Tree City
The City of New Port Richey is proud to be a Tree City, USA with a beautiful tree canopy on many streets and residential areas. The Annual Arbor Day Celebration was held on January 16, 2009 at the amphitheater in Sims Park.
